Cost of living in Dubai
Since past few years, living in Dubai has become quite expensive. High housing prices and an inflation rate of 10% has further fuelled the problem. Along with accommodation, car prices are also touching the skies. Some of the food stuffs, especially the imported ones, are out of reach of the common man. But to give relief to your pocket, local-made items are also as good as the imported ones. Dubai is not very particular about expensive designer labels.
Since import duty is quite less, mostly all the electronic goods are cheaper than those of Europe. Wines are also little cheaper than those from UK. Utilities such as water gas and electricity are provided at subsidized rates by the government. Rates of international calls are also extremely low for attracting international investments and businesses.
