Dubai Islands
There are plans to construct two very big artificial islands in Dubai. These two islands give Dubai an edge over the other Arabian countries.
The Palm Islands has been completed and it has three groups of islands, which are constructed in a palm-tree shape and is the first amongst the two artificially created islands. These three islands are situated near Deira (the largest one), Jebel Ali, and at Jumeirah (the smallest one).
The other Island is The World Island. Giving a meaning to its name, it has been given the shape of the world map. A group of three hundred private islands together make The World Dubai Islands. It seems that each island represents a different part of the world like Hong Kong, New York, Nepal etc. As far as sizes are concerned, the islands of The World Dubai vary from 250000 to 900000 square feet.
